Among the Savage E

Among the Savage E was shown as a part of the Boston Cyber Arts Festival, May 1-2 2003 in
Providence, RI along with the Rhode Island College Graduate Media Studies Exhibition.

Format: Short animation presented as a gallery installation
Medium: Animated clips rendered as vector and imported into Macromedia Flash

Process: Environments and characters constructed using polyogons in Alias Maya

Concept: "Among the Savage E" is to be an interactive movie telling the story of a reluctant
human who is stranded in the virtual community of the Savage E. This virtual world will be
represented in the Rhode Island College Whipple 104 media lab, occupying 30 display screens
and orchestrated by 21 Macintosh G4 computers, surrounding the viewers. We will present
this project during the Boston Cyberarts Festival in the Spring, 2003. The inhabitants of the
Savage E virtual world will travel and interact with the virtual main character across this multiple
monitor while spectators will be invited to join the Savage E world by adding a Savage E self to
the community by drawing up a virtual avatar at one of ten available G4 workstations.
